Cuba and Russia sign new cultural accord

Email To Friend Print Version | (ACN) -- An extensive accord for cultural exchanges between the republics of Cuba and the Russian Federation was signed on Friday within the framework of the ongoing Cuba 2010 International Book Fair in Havana.
The document was signed at the Fair by First Deputy Culture Minister Rafael Bernal and his Russian counterpart, Pavel Vladevich Joroshilov.
Attending the ceremony were Cuban Culture Minister Abel Prieto; the President of the Cuban Book Institute, Suleica Romay; and Russian Federation ambassador to Havana, Mijail Kamyni, among other personalities.
Bernal praised Russia’s literature and film making, as well as its music, dance and other artistic expressions.
For his part, Joroshilov pointed out that the signing of the new accord is an example of good will of the two parties and expressed his joy for the consolidation of cultural exchanges.
He also said that the Havana Book Fair is very important in the American continent and that he hopes that the new generations from the two countries can nurture from the contemporary art promoted by Cuba and Russia. | | | | Reads : 35 |
